Dani Dancing’s excitement about dance started as a kid, after watching her neighbor perform in a dance recital. She was introduced to ballet, tap, jazz, Hawaiian, Tahitian, and the Graham technique by the RJV School of Dance in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
As a college student, she danced with Ujima Dance Theater in Blacksburg, VA for three years under the direction of Carol Crawford Smith and performed ballet, jazz, and Afrocentric movements throughout the region. During this time, she also participated in classes and workshops that introduced her to more styles like West African and Zambian dance techniques, the Dunham technique, and Horton technique.
Dani completed the Raediant Movement’s Training to Stage program during its 2021-2022 season and subsequently joined Raediant Movement’s junior company which gave her the opportunity to perform contemporary black dance again. As a new company member, she is excited to continue her dance journey. Her favorite dance styles are Afro-Cuban salsa and open-style dance fusions.
