Erica ‘Rae’ Smith is the visionary founder and artistic director of Raediant Movement, LLC. A Philadelphia native, Erica holds a B.F.A. in Modern Dance from the University of the Arts. She has an extensive background as a dancer, having worked with prestigious companies such as Tania Isaac Dance and Lesole's Dance Project. Erica’s training spans a diverse range of styles, including Ballet, Modern, Jazz, South African, and Jamaican Dancehall. She has showcased her choreography at renowned venues like the Howard Theatre, DC Dance Summit, and the Clarice Performing Arts Center. In 2018, Erica was honored with The John F. Kennedy Center Local Dance Commission Project award.
Erica began Raediant Movement as a traveling dance workshop to advocate for the inclusion of Jamaican Dancehall and other dances of the African Diaspora within her local community. Today, Raediant Movement operates as a full-fledged dance company, hosting classes, events, and performances across the Washington, DC Metro area and virtually.
